The evolution of SERTIT

The most essential milestones in the evolution of SERTIT are illustrated below.

1997 Report from a Fact-finding group
The Norwegian Council for IT Security prepared a report recommending the establishment of a scheme for certification of IT Security in products and systems.
1998 Funding from the Storting
The Storting decided to fund the establishment and operation of SERTIT in accordance with the recommendation of Proposition No. 1 (1998-1999) from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
1999 SOG-IS MRA Participant
Norway joined SOG-IS MRA as a Consuming Member.
2000 CCRA Participant
Norway joined CCRA as a Consuming Member.
2000 SERTIT established
From 2000 SERTIT was placed at the Headquarters Defence Command Norway/Security Division (CHOD Norway/SEC), and since 2003 SERTIT has been part of the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM)
2003 Two Norwegian labs licenced
The companies Norconsult AS and System Sikkerhet AS were licenced as IT Security Evaluation Facilities (ITSEFs).
2006 CCRA Qualified Participant
SERTIT was qualified as a Certificate Issuing Member of the CCRA.
2010 Brightsight B.V. licenced as ITSEF
2012 Advanced Data Security licenced as ITSEF
2013 SOG-IS MRA Qualified Participant
SERTIT was qualified as a Certificate Issuing Member of the SOG-IS MRA.
